The American Fisheries Society and its Local Arrangements Committee
gratefully acknowledge the many sponsors who are helping to make the
2005 Annual Meeting a success. Contributors of financial support,
products, staff time, services, and other in-kind support include
Federal and State agencies, University groups, local Alaska and
Anchorage businesses, fishing companies, and private corporations. The
2005 meeting could not be held without their contributions.

The first to contribute to this effort are the core Local Arrangements
Committee members who committed their time and energy nearly 2 1/2 years
ago to a vision - to host the national AFS meeting a second time. Some
of that group are "remnants" from the local committee that put on the
1989 AFS meeting in Anchorage. Those people didn't learn the first
time, and have thrown themselves into the fire a second time. We are
indebted to those who are doing this - you know who you are. And we are
deeply thankful for the members of the various subcommittees (Excel file - 45 kb) who are
working hard to make AFS 2005 truly memorable.
Next to be acknowledged is the North Pacific Fishery Management Council
and its Executive Director Chris Oliver. The General Chairman of the
AFS 2005 meeting is employed by the Council, and Bill acknowledges this
support and thanks Chris for allowing him time to make the preparations
for the 2005 national AFS meeting.
Many agencies similarly are allowing some of their employees time and
other support so that they can work on the 2005 meeting. These include
the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, University of Alaska Fairbanks,
National Marine Fisheries Service, Fish Talk Consulting, Exxon-Valdez
Oil Spill Trustee Council, OASIS Environmental, U.S. Fish & Wildlife
Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Minerals
Management Service, Sheldon Jackson College, HDR Inc., RWJ Consulting,
Kathy R Consulting, and GrayStar Pacific Seafoods. Northwest Marine
Technology has provided very valuable assistance with fund raising
efforts. Thank you to all of these organizations for your support!
Financial contributions have been received from many groups. We thank
these sponsors from the bottom of our hearts. These contributions of
money form the base of the pyramid upon which we are building the 2005
meeting. Contributors fall into several groups:
Platinum level sponsors: $10,000 or greater
Gold level sponsors: $5,000-10,000
Silver level sponsors: $1,000-5,000
Patron level sponsors: Up to $1,000
