Committee Chairs - Lynn Starnes and Jim Tilmant
The
Western Native Fishes Committee has initiated its work having received
a prospectus from the originators of this project. Work on fund raising
is continuing. The Committee was formed from nominations of the EXCOM
and has grown since the first conference call.
The
major development of this committee will be its first meeting held on
April 13 in conjunction with the Western Division Annual Meeting. Committee
members will deal with issues such as geographic boundaries and whether
to list below the species level. The agenda is ambitious. Decisions made
at this meeting will lead to work assignments among committee members
and well as delineation of the work to be contracted out. The Committee
will also begin planning for a major symposium at the Western Division’s
Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City in 2004. |
