1999 Annual Western Division AFS Meeting
University of Idaho
Moscow, Idaho
July 12-14, 1999

Welcome

We assume you’ve already marked your calendars for the Western Division meeting from July 12 - 14, at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. If you haven’t, you should, because there are good things in store. Though last year's annual meeting was held in September, which left little time for planning and organizing this year’s meeting, we’ve nonetheless planned for the very best. As usual, lots of people are making every effort to make this year’s meeting a success, good ideas have risen to the top, and we hope to see you there.

Our new AFS Executive Director, Gus Rassam, has scheduled his first major Society address for this year’s Western Division meeting. Be assured Gus will convey his vision and direction for AFS. This is an excellent opportunity for all of us to meet Gus, visit, exchange ideas, introduce ourselves, and welcome Gus to AFS.

Contributed papers, symposia, and workshops are all part of the mix, so come join us for one of the most affordable Western Division meetings in quite some time. Registration fees include meeting attendance, morning and afternoon breaks Monday through Wednesday, lunches on Monday and Tuesday, food and entertainment Monday night (co-sponsored by the Nez Perce Tribe), and the Tuesday night social that includes food and entertainment.

Come interact with your friends and peers, hear and incorporate new ideas, meet new people, volunteer your time, energy and ideas, relax, learn, and enjoy this year’s Western Division meeting in Moscow.

See you there!

Sincerely,

WDAFS EXCOM
