Several options are available for travel to Telluride.  Attendees can fly directly into Telluride Airport and either grab a taxi (Mountain Limo, http://www.mountain-limo.com/, 970-728-9606) or rent a vehicle (Budget Rent a car, 970-728-4642) to get to their rooms and the meeting.  There is also a shuttle service provided by Telluride Express (http://www.tellurideexpress.com/) that makes a loop through town every 12 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. that can be used for local travel.  Rates to and from the town of Telluride are $7.00 each way.  To travel further up the hill to Mountain Village, where the Telluride Convention Center and Blue Mesa Lodge are located, the rate is $15/single passenger or $7/2 or more passengers.

Attendees can also fly into several other locations in Colorado and drive to the meeting while enjoying the beautiful wonders of nature that Colorado has to offer.  Several cities that are relatively close to Telluride include:  Montrose (65 scenic miles northwest), Cortez (71 miles southwest), Gunnison (125 miles southwest), Durango (125 miles southeast), Grand Junction (127 miles northwest), and Denver (330 miles northeast).  Telluride Express offers two-way shuttle service from all of these locations but Denver.  Visit their website for detailed information or to make reservations (http://www.tellurideexpress.com/).  Groups of 6 or more can take advantage of fare reductions offered to AFS members, so be sure and mention you're with AFS if you plan on traveling as a group and need shuttle service from one of these outlying communities.

United Airlines is the official airline of Telluride 2000.  If you call United's toll-free number (1-800-521-4041) to book your reservation, you will receive a 5% discount off the lowest advertised discount fare.  Refer to meeting number 543ZM, or Wyoming Coop. Fish/Wildlife Res., when making reservations.  Agents are available 7 days per week from 7:00 am to 12:00 midnight eastern-standard time.

Budget Rent a Car (budget@rmi.net) is the official car rental agency of Telluride 2000.  Vehicles can be rented throughout the state of Colorado at discounted rates and 200 free miles per day.  Options include small cars for $29.95 per day; mid-sized cars for $37.95 per day; full-sized cars for $45.95 per day; 4´4 trucks for $89.95 per day; and vans for $119.00 per day.  Call 1-800-221-2419 for reservations and mention that you are attending the American Fisheries Society meeting in Telluride.
