Transportation

  • Ground Transfers from the airport to the Hyatt can be obtained from Cloud 9 Shuttle ($8.50 pp each way) or taxis ($12-20 each way). The Hyatt Islandia does not have its own airport shuttle service. AFS members that conduct business routinely in San Diego recommend the convenience of traditional taxi services – just hail one curbside at the airport. Cloud 9 Shuttles are available curbside at the airport and run every 15 minutes 24 hours per day. Cloud 9 will deliver you to the Hyatt Islandia but makes multiple stops at other hotels around San Diego. For your trip back to the airport, call the Hyatt’s Bell Desk 24 hours in advance. Private Cloud 9 Shuttles can be obtained by calling 800-9-SHUTTLE.

Our overflow and student lodging hotel, the Dana Inn, does provide a complimentary airport shuttle daily from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm If you’re staying at the Dana Inn call 619-222-6440 when you land and they’ll send the shuttle.

  • Rental Cars from all major companies are available at the airport. Many have desks in the airport but all vehicles are located offsite – shuttle services are provided. Enterprise Rent-a-Car has onsite delivery and drop-off service at the Hyatt Islandia – their direct number is 858-483-3800.
  • Complimentary Charter Buses will run continuous trips between the Hyatt and Scripps Birch Aquarium in La Jolla for the Wednesday night (April 16) reception and dinner. We urge you to be safe and take advantage of this service – La Jolla is a 15-20 minute drive from the Hyatt. Buses will begin leaving from the Hyatt’s main entrance at 5:30 pm. Service from the Aquarium to the Hyatt will end at 11:00 pm.
  • Bicycles and other self propelled vehicles are available for rent from the Hyatt’s Activities Center and vendors along the marina boardwalk adjacent to the hotel
  • Water Craft including sailboats, motorboats, personal water craft, kayaks, and paddle boats can be rented at the Islandia and Dana Inn Marinas. If you’re bringing your own boat, a public launch ramp is located behind the Dana Inn. Live bait and tackle are available at the Islandia Marina.
